Dr. Nelson Astle, M.D.
Dr. Nelson Astle graduated from Brigham Young University and then continued his education at the University Of Utah School Of Medicine. He chose family practice as his primary focus and completed his residency at the University of Iowa. He had the honor of being selected chief resident and was distinguished as the top resident in his graduating class. He formally began his family practice in 1985, which included directorship of the Davis Hospital emergency room from 1985 until 1993. He was very active in obstetrics, having delivered approximately 500 babies. One of the highlights of Dr. Astle’s career was planning, building, and directing a local family practice clinic. He recently sold this clinic in order to focus all his time at Westside Medical. Dr. Astle is currently the director of Aspen Care Nursing Center, Legacy House, Emeritus, and The Garden Assisted Living Centers. He currently has privileges at all the local hospitals. Dr. Astle is a diplomat of American Academy of Family Physicians and enjoys all areas of family medicine. He believes that quality of life is essential for all his patients and always works with that goal in mind.
Dr. Tyler Dixon, D.O.
A Plain City native, Dr. Tyler Dixon graduated from Weber High, earned his medical degree at the Midwestern University and completed his residency at the McKay-Dee Family Practice Residency Program in 2008. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Utah Medical Association. He enjoys taking care of the full spectrum of patients from newborn to the elderly. He focuses on preventative care, well child, the treatment of chronic illness, adult care and acute injuries. He also has a special interest in sports medicine. Dr. Dixon and his wife Stacey have 5 children and are passionate about music and also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
Dr. Samantha Bostrom, M.D.
Dr. Samantha Bostrom is a board certified Pediatrician with many years experience in General Pediatrics and Behavioral Health Pediatrics. She had additional training in Psychiatry and is certified in Pediatric psychopharmacology. She joined West Side Medical in 2007 and continued her practice as a pediatric behavioral specialist. She loves seeing the changes that occur in children's' lives from proper diagnosis, treatment and management of emotional distress or pain. Dr. Bostrom participates in cutting edge research to find new and improved treatments that help children with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and other emotional and behavioral disorders. She has been published as an expert informant and as a lead author on clinical research data. Dr. Bostrom's active research studies allows her to provide the newest evidence based medical options for her patients. Nationally and locally she serves on advisory boards and lectures to professionals in all areas of pediatric behavioral health. She is also involved with many community services and contributes to fundraisers for children with special needs. She works in our Behaviorial Pediatrics Clinic at 801-614-5860). In her time away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her 14 y.o son with special needs and her husband. They love outdoor activities.
Dr. Mark Jorgensen, M.D.
Dr. Mark Jorgensen grew up in the small town of Moses Lake, Washington. He's a farm boy at heart and spent many long hours in the fields and on the tractor of his father's potato farm. Following high school he served a mission for his church in Guatemala where he was severely injured in a bike accident and received maxillofacial surgery. After recovery, he finished out his mission in Alabama. This accident led him to his interest in medicine and helping others, especially after experiencing the medical needs of third world countries first-hand.
Dr. Jorgensen earned his B.S. in Management Information Systems from Brigham Young University. He moved to Bentonville, Arkansas and worked for 2 years for Wal-Mart Corporate offices as a computer programmer. He continued on with his medical path by moving to Little Rock, Arkansas to attend medical school. He earned his M.D. from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and did his residency at UAMS Pine Bluff AHEC in Pine Bluff, AR where he was Chief Resident. He is certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS and he is fluent in Spanish.
Mark and his wife Lisa are happy to live in Davis County. They have been married for 17 years and have 3 children. Mark is a caring, fun-loving person. He's always willing to help and not afraid of getting the job done. In his spare time he loves camping, playing sports, wood-working, computers, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife and children.
Dr. Eric Hogan, D.O.
Eric Hogan grew up in Davis county. He graduated from Davis High School and Weber State University. He attended medical school at Michigan State University and completed a family medicine residency program at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing Michigan. He then completed an additional year of residency specializing in neuromuscular medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine through Sparrow Hospital and Michigan State University. He is dually board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
He enjoys treating families from infancy through the elderly. His special interests include using osteopathic manipulation, in which he uses his hands to diagnose and treat illness or injury through gentle techniques. Dr. Hogan and his wife have 4 children and love being active doing outdoor activities. He enjoys running, basketball, and skiing.
Mark Goodrich, PA-C
Mark has been a Physician Assistant with Westside Medical Clinic for the past 3 years. Mark trained at the Univerity of Utah PA program and graduated in June of 1999. After graduation he worked at a family practice clinic in Layton for 4 years. Mark was first introduced to medicine through the U.S. Army when he trained as a surgical technician. Mark currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserves as an Army Nurse Corp Officer. Mark is married with 4 children and enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities, Hunting , Fishing and Hiking. Mark also enjoys wood working.
Ronald G. Drescher (Gary), PA-C
Gary has been with Westside Medical for the last 10 years providing care as one of our Physician Assistants. He did his training at the US Army Physician’s Assistant program from October 1985-1987, doing his clinical rotations at Fort Ord, California. He then spent the next 7 years providing care for military members and their families in Germany, Missouri, and Kansas. In 1994 he left the military to practice at the Clearfield Job Corps, treating young adults who were receiving job training from the US Department of Labor. He also worked at Wee Care Pediatrics during this time.
Gary is married and has three children, all boys. He has 2 grand children as well. He enjoys reading, golfing, soccer and other sporting activities. He likes to play practical jokes and has a good time with the other staff members. He also enjoys teaching and has been teaching the maturation program for 5th and 6th grade boys in many of the Davis County Schools.
Elmo L. Taylor, PA
Elmo has been a Physician Assistant with Westside Medical Clinic for the past 15 years. Trained at the U of U PA program 1977-1978. After graduation, worked as a PA-C (Physician Assistant Certified) at Ft. Morgan, Co. 1978-1980. After returning to Utah, worked at a Community Health Center in Bicknell, Utah.(Wayne County) 1980-1992.
Elmo was introduced to the medical profession by the US Army where he served as a medic with an Infantry Unit in Viet Nam. He received additional medical training as a Special Forces medic. After completion of the PA program, served as a Medical Officer with the Utah Army National Guard for twenty years.
Elmo is married and has six sons and currently nineteen grandchildren. He enjoys time with his family and Outdoor activities, camping, fishing and hunting.
Kolleen Marchand, MMS, PA-C
Kolleen is new to Westside Medical this year but has practiced in the Davis and
Weber County areas for 11 years in fammily practice with special interest and
experience in women's health. She believes healthcare should be treated as a
partnership between provider and patient, where education and understanding are
key to providing the best care possible.
Kolleen received her Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from Midwestern
University in Downers Grove, IL. Her undergraduate studies were completed locally at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in zoology, with a minor in chemistry. Kolleen is a member of the American and Utah
Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA and UAPA).
Kolleen enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters. Her hobbies
include scrapbooking/crafts, decorating, music, sports/exercise and outdoor activities
such as hiking and camping.
Danielle Heaps, PNP
Danielle Heaps is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner and certified as a pediatric primary care mental health specialist. She has over 20 years experience in pediatrics, including , primary care, complex care, urgent care, ER, and sedation. She specializes in assessing and treating children (ages 2-21 y.o.) suffering from ADHD, anxiety, depression and other emotional and behavioral disorders. She loves working with children and their families to promote the most optimal family, social and school functioning. Danielle has a great interest in humanitarian work and donates time to helping children in Haiti. She is the pediatric director for the organization, "My Aid for Haiti". She has recently joined West Side Medical and is excited to work along with Dr. Bostrom, a pediatric behavioral specialist. She works as a Behaviorial Pediatrics Specialist at 801-614-5860). Danielle loves spending time with her two children. They keep her busy with football,horseback riding and social events. In her spare time, she enjoys pilates, decorating and cooking.
Cassandra Kimball, PA-C
Cassandra Kimball graduated with an Associates of Science in Nursing from Weber State University in 1995. She immediately continued her education at D' Youville College in Buffalo, NY and received her medical degree as a Physician Assistant in 1998. She received special distinction as a Magna Cum Laude graduate.
Cassandra began her career as a Physician Assistant with a family practice medical group in Tacoma, WA. In 2000 she moved to Southern California and practiced with an Internal Medicine/Pediatric group in Hemet and then spent two years at the Loma Linda University Family Medical Clinic. She also worked as a provider in a high demand urgent-care clinic at Loma Linda University.
In 2003 Cassandra was pleased to join Westside Medical Clinic. She enjoys serving patients in the areas of women's health, pediatrics, and general medicine.
Cassandra continues her medical education as a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and through seminars, journals and workshops approved by The AAPA. Cassandra is registered and board certified to practice medicine by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed in the State of Utah.
