1. Don't Share Everything
Although we want our kids to be kind and share most things in life, it's good to teach your children not to share brushes, hats, lip gloss, and makeup. Sharing these kinds of items leads to the spread of germs and lice.
2. Get Immunized
Back to school time is the perfect time to make sure your child is up to date on his/her immunizations. Vaccines have kept children safe from serious diseases for more than 50 years. To check if your child is up to date call our office at 801-774-8888.
3. Wash Those Hands
Remind your children as they start school again to wash their hands after they use the restroom at school. Many kids forget to wash as they hurry back out to recess. Remind them to bubble up their soap and wash well with warm water. It's an easy way to prevent sickness!
4. Drink Water
Without mom around, kids often forget to drink enough water at school. Kids still need to stay hydrated during the first warm weeks of school and then even still as winter approaches. Remind them to stop by the drinking fountain or have them carry a water bottle with them. Pack their lunches with small water bottles instead of soda or sugary drinks.
5. Catch More Zzzzzs
With your new back to school routine in place, make sure it includes a healthy sleep schedule for your kids. Establish a nice bedtime routine that helps them settle down at the end of the day. And don't forget that mom and dad need to go to bed on time too!
6. Communicate with Teachers
Remember to inform your child's teacher of any health concerns you may have. This could include allergies, medication information, or asthma. Establish a good relationship with the teacher and keep communicating throughout the year as needs, worries, and concerns change.
